1. What is digital mail?

There are several ways for companies to access digital mail from public authorities: through virk.dk, Digital Post, or e-boks.dk. Access to the digital mailbox requires the use of MitID Erhverv (formerly NemID medarbejdersignatur), which is linked to the company. In order to view messages from authorities, the company also needs an administrator who controls who in the company can see the messages. Azets can help set up a digital mailbox and MitID.

2. What is e-Boks?

e-Boks is a digital mailbox where you can read, write, and reply to digital mail from public authorities or other companies you have chosen to receive mail from in eBoks. eBoks is created, when the company registers a CVR number in Denmark.

3. What is NemKonto?

NemKonto is a bank account that the individual employee has chosen to be the account where benefits and other payments from the government should be deposited. NemKonto is often used as a salary account.

4. NemKonto for businesses

A company with a CVR number must choose which of the company's business accounts should be a NemKonto, and inform their bank accordingly. It is a legal requirement that the company has a NemKonto that authorities can pay into, as a company can also receive money from the government, such as refunds related to an employee on parental leave. There may also be excess tax or VAT.

5. What are NemID and MitID?

Previously, NemID was used as the Danish digital signature provider, but it is currently in the process of being phased out and all companies are transitioning to MitID.

MitID is the Danish national eID, every citizen's personal key to digital services in Denmark, including self-service solutions from the government. Read more about MitID.

MitID Erhverv is for all businesses, associations, and public authorities. It is being used, when an employee needs to log in with MitID on behalf of the company, when the employee needs rights to special public self-service solutions, or needs to grant power of attorney to external companies. For example, if an employee needs to report parental leave and/or sickness, the user needs special rights. These rights can be assigned to users in MitID Erhverv.
